Emergency information sources for international visitors in Germany
If the area where you currently stay in is affected by accidents or disasters such as fire, flood or a release of hazardous substances, the local authorities will provide you with crucial information and safety instructions. These will be provided to you by federal authorities if Germany is under attack by armed force or imminently threatened with such an attack. In order to ensure you, your family and fellow travelers’ safety, please follow these instructions at any time.
Please stay informed
Please inform yourself as best as possible about the ongoing situation using both our services and the available local sources. Information and safety instructions are broadcast via
- local radio stations and
- in many areas siren alarms or loud speaker announcements
are used to warn the population about an imminent danger. In addition, alert messages in German and English will be sent via Cell Broadcast Service to your mobile device; for critical information you can turn to your
- local mayor's office,
- police station or
- fire department.
Please help your fellow travelers and other people around you by sharing any warnings and safety instructions.
